Facial rejuvenation can be a fantastic treatment that leaves you feeling and looking your best. Thanks to the emergence of innovative treatments, such as laser resurfacing and microneedling, you can achieve a refreshed and youthful appearance if you’d like to revamp your skin. When it comes to laser resurfacing versus microneedling, which is the right choice for you? It all depends on the problem areas you want to target.

Laser resurfacing and microneedling offer their own benefits, but it’s necessary to look at them more in-depth to determine which may be the perfect treatment for you. Let’s explore both treatments, how they work, and the additional benefits each may bring to your skin. At The Studio Med Spa, we are happy to provide both incredible treatments to rejuvenate your skin and allow you to feel your best in no time!

What Is Laser Resurfacing?

Laser resurfacing combines ablative and nonablative lasers to target the top outer layer of the skin and gently remove it. While we work on this outer layer of the skin, the layer underneath it (also known as the dermis) receives heat stimulation to kickstart collagen regeneration. The results of this treatment include firmer and smoother skin with reduced pore size and an improvement of color and under-eye circles.

Pain and discomfort during these treatments are very rare. We apply a topical numbing cream before the lasers. You may need about three laser sessions to receive optimal results. However, further consultations to learn more about your needs are always available. Laser resurfacing at The Studio Med Spa involves varying levels of lasers depending on each client’s unique needs. This treatment is not one-size-fits-all. We will work to find the laser resurfacing process that matches you and leaves your skin at its best!

What Is Microneedling?

It’s another non-invasive procedure stimulating collagen regeneration for smoother skin and a beautiful, rejuvenated appearance. Microneedling consists of using a small pen-like tool to pin prick the skin. These microscopic “injuries'' help produce new collagen-rich tissue quickly.

The collagen-rich tissue, in turn, gives your skin a glowing and toned texture. The microneedling process takes about 30 minutes – and remember - a topical anesthetic is applied to prevent any possible pain and discomfort. You can expect to see an improved quality in your skin and a reduced appearance of acne marks, stretch marks, and fine lines with microneedling. Many people enjoy this treatment because it does not take much time, and the results on the skin are visible after the first session. We offer several different types of microneedling including regular microneedling, radio-frequency (RF) microneedling and microneedling with PRP. During your consultation we will determine which type will best suit your unique skin needs.

Which Facial Rejuvenation Treatment Is Right for Me?

You need to consider a few aspects to determine which facial rejuvenation treatment suits you. Are you looking to improve your skin color and reduce the appearance of sunspots? Are you hoping to get some relief from under-eye circles that don’t seem to improve with various eye creams and other treatments? If these are some of the problem areas on your mind, laser resurfacing may be your answer.

If you want to refresh your skin’s appearance while also targeting pesky acne scars and stretch marks, you may turn to microneedling instead for the best results. Microneedling takes a few hours to complete, but the results are excellent. If you’re looking for a treatment requiring less maintenance and further sessions to show results, microneedling may also be the right choice.

While facial rejuvenation treatments offer remarkable results, you want to ensure you select what targets your specific problem skin areas. Are you still unsure and debating about what facial rejuvenation treatment may work for you? Consult with a professional at The Studio Med Spa to get professional insight and be confident in your decision!
