How does PRP work?

PRP stimulates the body's natural healing response by thickening and tightening thinning skin.

PRP is a method of isolating and concentrating your own blood’s platelets, which contain many health and growth factors. It works by using growth factors that can be injected under the skin to rejuvenate old cells and stimulate the growth of new cells.

PRP uses your own blood plasma to stimulate growth in hair follicles and encourage hair growth. 3 treatments are recommended for best results. The procedure is relatively simple and takes 60 minutes to complete. The area is numbed using a topical cream. We draw blood and use a centrifuge to separate out the PRP. Once separated, the PRP is transferred to a syringe and lightly injected into the treatment area.

Hair Loss

PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma can be used for a variety of issues, but it is very popular for hair loss. Some of our latest videos highlight what we offer and will demonstrate how the procedure and process works. At The Studio Med Spa, PRP is performed using only FDA-approved kits and centrifuge. We include topically numbing cream and free microneedling to our current packages. We've found that post-injection microneedling helps to provide superior results. Typically 3 treatments, spaced 1 month apart, are needed for the best results. Maintenance treatments every 5 to 12 months for the first few years help to maintain them.

PRP injections can be used in the lower eyelid region as an option to safely and efficiently reduce under-eye bags or pigmentation. It can help turn back the clock and revitalize tired-looking eyes, giving you added confidence.

How many treatments are needed?

3 or more sessions are typically needed to achieve optimal results. Sessions are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart.
Does it hurt?

The level of discomfort is really dependent on the area of treatment. Some areas are more sensitive than others. You may feel slight pain from the needle pricks or some mild pain. We apply a topical numbing cream prior to your treatment to reduce pain and discomfort.
How long before I see improvement?

Some clients see results after a month. While some clients see results after 3 months. It can vary greatly from person to person.

Is there any downtime?

Expected downtime is typically around 1 to 2 days, but it depends on the area treated. Expected downtime will be discussed during your complimentary consultation.
